Reviews
Rustic pub that marries old school rustic charm with a cosy atmosphere & friendly, efficient service.
Food in the restaurant upstairs is excellent.
They do have an extensive whiskey collection but it is very expensive across the board.
Need a better selection of Irish craft beers on tap / in the fridge however - there was just one single independent beer available outside of the big breweries :/
We had a great time. Really good pub and with a really good and traditional Guinness well served toilet was super clean and you can sit outside if you desire. Inside you have really good place and comfortable sits. I would recommend that one
M O'Briens is a quintessential "local pub" where you have the regulars that come in, breed an air of familiarity, and have their say in every discussion. I walked in on a cold Irish evening in Dublin when the jacket I'd bought from India failed to keep put the wind and the lovely Irish weather.
O'Briens was warm, quiet and the barkeep was very helpful with what Irish whiskey I should knock back. Added bonus he was a history buff as well. He gave me recommendations for which Irish whiskey to carry back and why. I felt right at home, such a sense of familiarity and belonging.... Visit here if you can.
Main room was empty on a Tuesday night, and the bartender came over to our group of six, pointed to my friend, and told him to be quieter, because he was laughing too loudly.
More the substandard pint, or charging €5.50 for a bottle of Heineken 0.0, or the bathrooms that smell so strongly of bleach as to leave visitors lightheaded…the service is why such a nice pub, with such a great location, is always, always empty.
Fantastic spot that has a mix of auld lads pub and lounge. Guinness is up there with the best and the staff are superb. This is a pub and not a restaurant.
Great old style pub, lovely atmosphere. You need to be lucky to get a seat. Didn't eat, just drink and chat!
Great and cozy bar. Nice staff too. It's good if you wanna see any football match or rugby.
Be careful with upstairs dining. Different business and not part of M O'Briens even though M O'Briens name was everywhere. Cannot get pub beer and food more expensive. Shepherds Pie was very good.
